Your work is remarkably artistic. Is that part of your background?
I've been living in the UK for 14 years but my background as an artist started in my homeland, Poland. I studied Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, and graduated with a Masters in Sculpture and Ceramics.
In my high school photography lessons, I immersed myself in the world of developing films and spending hours in a dark room. At that point, I already knew photography would be part of my future.
What was your first thought when you heard about FocalAgent?
My sister in law is an estate agent, who has a successful relationship with FocalAgent. She introduced me to Rob, another FocalAgent photographer and he kindly recommended me.
I thought it'd be the perfect job for me because one of my big interests is interior design. My photography reflects this: it's been published in magazines like Elle Decoration, Country Living, and Home & Garden. Taking photos of lovely places in and around Brighton sounded like a dream job.
Tell us more about the FocalAgent Photographer's day-to-day.
The team is great. Most of the time I work with two lovely ladies: my Business Coach Mel and Client Relations Manager, Heather. They're fantastic at dealing with any queries and problems, and are always positive and happy to help.
As time has gone on, I've become a better and more efficient photographer. Some projects still come with their own challenges, but Mel and I work through them together.
I still work freelance, but I'd say about 70% of my photography work comes through FocalAgent now!
Your reputation with estate agents is getting better all the time - what are your secrets?
None of it's secret - I just love what I do. I make sure I've got a great communication with the estate agents. I like them very much and feel like I'm a part of the team.
