Reports from Halifax have revealed that almost all of the top 10 UK regions with the highest house price growth in 2019 were in the North of England.
Billingham in County Durham saw the highest overall growth – with house price increases of more than 12%. After that, came Ilkeston in Derbyshire with increases of 9.1%.
All the further locations in the top 10 were in the North West of England.
On the flip side, the top 10 areas with the biggest decline in prices were in London or the South East of England. The biggest decrease was in Harrow where prices fell by more than 3%.
