New Build Homes Average 19% More Expensive Than Pre-Owned Properties

A report out this week from The Monmouthshire Building Society has shown that new build homes cost an average 19% more than similar pre- owned properties.

The figure was higher in North, Wales and West Midlands where a new build flat or maisonette could cost up to 50% more than a pre-owned version.

Detached properties were the only exception. New build detached homes in Greater London, the South East, the North West and the South West were cheaper than pre-owned ones.
