A new tool released by Rightmove this week that measures the asking price per square metre of a property shows that the average price per square metre in England & Wales has increased by 0.8% over the past year; a figure that falls below the rate of inflation.
The tool indicates an average asking price per square meter of £2,954 with the highest asking prices being in London “W” postcodes where the average was £10,427.
Their asking price calculator is also being used in their “Home Extension Cost Calculator” which aims to help homeowners estimate the value of adding an extension to their home.
They have described the calculators as providing a “rough guide only”.
