Recent advertisements from Rightmove on the London Underground made claims that every second someone contacts an estate agent about a home on their platform. Well, a few people didn’t buy it and 3 complaints were made to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
In response, Rightmove told the ASA that there 31.5m seconds in a year, and that it received 42m leads annually, equating to 1.3 enquiries every second.
The ASA did not uphold any of the complaints stating “We considered those figures were sufficiently robust as the basis for the advertising claim. We therefore concluded that the claim in ads (a) and (b) had been substantiated and was not misleading.”
