It's true: we're property photography specialists. But our photographers are a multi-talented bunch. When we spoke to or 760-strong team recently, we found out that:
- 35% complement their FocalAgent jobs with wedding photography,
- 33% also work in portrait photography,
- and 20% work with companies to deliver product photography.
In fact, between the lot, they cover over 30 different niches. That's a lot of talent - and a lot of opportunity to share knowledge. Over the next few months, they'll be answering questions on everything from music photography to architectural - we've even got some forensic specialists out there! Meet our panel of FocalAgent Expert Photographers below.
Rob Buttle, expert on wedding photography
RB: Hi, I'm Rob. I live and work in the beautiful city of Norwich in Norfolk, and outside my property photography work with FocalAgent, I mainly shoot weddings.
Before I started my photography career, I served in the Royal Marines. A big career change I know; but I fancied a real creative change.
For the past six years though, I've been focusing on photography. As well as my FocalAgent work, I shoot 20-30 weddings a year and indulge my other passion: shooting portraits of my children.
I'm really looking forward to being on the panel and answering your questions!
Neil Isherwood, expert on forensic photography
NI: Hi, I'm Neil. I started my career about 22 years ago as a delivery driver for a large AV hire company in Manchester, later becoming an Audio Visual Technician. One day, we were contacted by a local hospital asking us to film some procedures. Lots of my colleagues left as they were feeling a bit faint but it didn't bother me - in fact, I loved it! Fast forward 20 years to today, and I'm the official photographer/videographer for the same hospital.
Laura Laws, expert on portrait photography
LL: Hi, my name's Laura. I've been a professional photographer for around 15 years. Before that, I was a keen amateur and loved a church or tractor landscape!
I started my photography career when I was selling my house. We had a pro around and I interfered so much that he told me to do it myself... So I did! I went on lots of jobs with him, photographing some beautiful estates for FPDSavills. I moved to Buckinghamshire to set up my own studio in 2005 and worked primarily in portraiture.
In 2011 I took a short break to have my youngest son. When I went back to work, FocalAgent was there to help me get back into property photography.
Hennie Wellman, expert on editorial photography
HW: I'm Hennie Wellman, and my company is Wellman Photography Ltd. Photography has been my full time passion and profession for more than 15 years.
As well as FocalAgent, I work with architects, engineers, developers, building companies, bathroom designers, kitchen designers, hotels, restaurants and holiday resorts. I've been very fortunate and have been able to complete assignments for these companies in America, Spain, France, Denmark, Holland, Portugal, Kenya, South Africa, Lesotho, Zimbabwe and of course here in England, Scotland and Wales.
My photographic images appear in national and international magazines, books, brochures, websites and many other publications.
It's my wish for each of you, that you have your most memorable year yet behind the camera.
